The Best Kind of Charity Is To Give Something To The Giver As Well As The Receiver

I am not an early person and it was extremely hard to get up from my warm bed. I was so determined to crawl out of my bed for the sake of participating in the voluntary exercise to carry pails of construction material up the stairs to the Batu Caves hill-top temple that is undergoing renovation. Our little legs were trembling while we're climbing up to the top with bricks in our hand. I was wearing a WAHOO heart rate sensor and I stopped and rested for few seconds when my heart rate was pumping quickly. You would never have believe it also that local visitors and tourists also worked together to help in the renovation of the place of worship.

You can do it anytime when you are free. This voluntarism is open to public. I would suggest that it would be better if you go in the early morning because of the fresh air and less people at that time. It will be crowded after 10am.
How many bricks or how many times you should carry is actually up to you. As long as it is within your comfort level, it will be fine. I tried to carry 2 bricks each in a pail each time and it was not easy to do it. I am giving a little bit of advice here: please remember to wear a pair of gloves; it is needed to protect your hand. It is not a good idea if you have health issues or a fear of heights.
I had burned down 625 calories according to the data traced from WAHOO heart rate sensor. We perspired a lot and our clothes were all wet like we just had been through pouring rain. It is not only voluntarism, but we were working out at the same time. Killing two birds with one stone, why not?

We were cheering each other not just our friends but also other volunteers, young or old. Our friendship is getting stronger, even within our community. We care about the society regardless of race, religion. The only thing we had for each other was love and harmony.
